About the Chat Room

The Aperture Photo Club community chat room is a live, open space where members can connect with each other in real time. Whether you want to ask for feedback on your latest submission, discuss techniques for shooting in difficult lighting conditions, share a lens recommendation, or just talk photography with people who are as enthusiastic about it as you are — this is the place. The chat is open to all club members at any time, and no registration beyond your name or a username is required to jump in. We have one simple rule for the chat: be respectful. The same community conduct standards that apply to photo submissions apply here. Photographers at every skill level are welcome, and questions from beginners are just as valued as insights from experienced shooters.

The chat room is hosted through Minnit, a free live chat platform that runs directly within this page. You do not need to navigate away or create a Minnit account to participate — just enter a username and start chatting. Conversations in the chat are public and visible to all members who are online at the same time. The chat is not moderated around the clock, so please report any conduct issues by emailing leowhumbach@gmail.com and we will address them promptly. We hope the chat becomes a regular part of your experience with Aperture Photo Club — some of the best photography advice comes not from tutorials but from real conversations with people who are actively out there shooting.
